Joel + Jessica Trash the Dress!!

OK so maybe it wasnt quite a day after.. Actually almost a 2 year anniversary in fact. Joel and Jessica approached me to set up a time to do a “Trash the Dress” shoot. We dont really trash the dress.. unless you want us too.. then it opens up even MORE POSSIBILITIES!! :) haha ok anyways.. Jessica was reluctant because she didnt want to literally trash her dress but she wanted to get totally funky pictures. So I had just the right place in mind! Another one of my totally random secret places.. 

But before we get started I wanted to give a special thanks to Steve with Weddings by SML as well as Brianne Brewster for doing an awesome job on Jessica’s hair and make up. Steve got some great footage from the day and I cant wait till we put all together! 

I love the industrial feel of all these shots.. I even think it went well with what Joel was wearing.. 

Considering they were standing through the stairs it probably wasn’t too safe for me to stand ON them.. Got some sweet shots though :)

One of my favorite shots of the day… Lighting is soo sweet!

Jessica was pretty much open for just about anything.. she even told me she didnt mind if her dress got wet.. Wrong thing to say if you really dont want to get wet ;)

Trash the Dress

Geoff + Kimi + Junk = Totally Awesome Photo Shoot!!

I have been anticipating this shoot for quite a while now and have been super excited to post it. I took Kimi and Geoff, one of my favorite couples and took them out to one of my newest secret spot. Tons of textures, colors, and props galore. This place has everything from boats and cars to old vintage chairs. I was so so pleased with how this shoot came out. Along with me I had my wonderful second shooter Kristin as well as my new video buddy Steve with Weddings by SML. Who really helped capture the feeling of what I was going for. Check out his video from the day HERE!  Insanely awesome footage!! Thanks Steve and Kris! 

I also want to give a huge HUGE shout out to Brianne Brewster and Stephanie Estes. Stephanie did Kimi’s hair and Brianne did Kimi’s makeup and also made her sweet custom net veil. They both did such an awesome job and deserved serious recognition. 

So I don’t even know where to start. I don’t have a favorite shot because honestly they all are. These kinds of shoots allow me to take extra time finding cool places and trying new things without worrying about the crunch of the wedding day. Another main factor which makes these shoots so incredible is that brides aren’t worried (as much) about getting their dress’s dirty which opens up a whole other world of photo possibilities.. In fact the opportunities are endless.

TS Lens baby… Super fun to play with.

Definitely my favorite prop find of the whole day.. This sweet vintage chair.. I had been looking for one for several weeks and was unsuccessful.. Good thing I didnt find one becuase I would have just ditched it for this one.. Kudos to Kimi for sitting on this thing.. She’s a brave one indeed!
