We MOVED!!!

Well its be real and it been fun! But now we are off to a brand new chapter in our life! Its time for a change. Out with the old and in with the new.. Don’t worry we’re not ACTUALLY moving. However we are moving to our new and improved blog (www.brandonkidd.net/blog) and website (www.brandonkidd.net)! Since it was a brand new beginning for us with our wedding earlier this year we both felt it was an appropriate time to refocus and re-brand accordingly. Hey Guys! Here are some photos from our most recent trip to Texas documenting Ben and Libby’s wedding festivities. Meet Ben and Libby. Libby is a amazingly talented graphic designer out in Texas. You can check out some of her stuff here at Libby’s Love Letters. We had a weekend filled with fun activities. Engagement shoot, rehearsal dinner and of course the wedding day! In 100 degree weather and 90% humidity.. it was action packed to say the least! We first started out on Libby’s grandfather’s ranch just outside of Dallas/Fort Worth area to take some quick portraits before the rehearsal dinner. This place was BEAUTIFUL!! and HUGE!! Kristin and I couldn’t believe how awesome this place was. In fact the more and more we visit Texas the more we leave a piece of our hearts behind! We love it out there so much. I think mainly due to the hearts of everyone we have meet out there. Ben and Libby were beyond awesome to work for. Their hospitality was so sincere and generous, Kristin and I were really blessed by it. Ben and Libby are super fun and sweet, not to mention they photograph incredibly well, I cant wait to show you the other shoots! Keep in mind this is only post 1 of 3 so there is much more on the way!!Enjoy!!

I love these shots because both Ben and Libby’s last names are Smith.. Lucky for Libby she wont have to fill out all the extra paperwork and hassle with changing her last name!

David and Esther {Engaged}

Sweet, romantic, and humble. These are the words I would use to describe David and Esther. These two have such gentle and quiet spirits about them that you cant help but just adore being around them! During their dating years David and Esther would tell each other fairy tales and read each other stories to help the other person fall asleep at night. In fact David proposed by writing Esther a fairytale of his own..needless to say it worked! So they wanted to incorporate this into their engagement photos as well as their wedding day. I think these photos completely reflect their genuine personalities and the soft, romantic vibe they were going for. Although these two were incredibly nervous for the shoot, they were super modelesque all day and made for a great shoot! In fact there were so many great shots that this is only the second half of the shoot!! Too many to post Enjoy!!

Kevin and Jennifer {Married}

Today I have the pleasure of posting some awesome images from Kevin and Jennifer’s wedding! It was such a beautiful day and their private residence was such a stunning backdrop for the days festivities. We took Kevin and Jennifer’s engagement photos at Kevin’s grandfathers house and it was such an AMAZING location that we just couldn’t resist going back there for more! Jennifer incorporated a lot of fun and unique details in her day which you will see.. however my ultimate favorite was the home made pomegranate jam which we got to take home some for favors…uummmm so good!! Kevin and Jenn had a fun jam making party with all their family and friends using the pomegranates from Kevin’s grandfathers house. The same ones they took their engagement photos under. They thought that it would not only be a great favor for their guests to take home and enjoy but also symbolic since Jenn’s new name is Jennifer Anne Merrett = JAM. Kevin and Jenn are super awesome people and we had such a blast being able to document their special day! Also thanks to Summer from Grey Likes Weddings for featuring this wedding today!

Aaron and Trish {Engaged}

“Why would you want to take your engagement photos in a JUNK YARD”.. Aaron’s mom asked the week before our shoot. Trying to think of a fun and different place to take their engagement photos Aaron remembered that his uncle owned a junk yard out in El Mirage. Thinking that it could be a cool location for photos they proposed the idea to me.. I said…. umm…. YEAH!!! When they told me also that they had hired Shade Tree Films to shoot their Love Story the same day I was even more thrilled! Kristin and I were so pumped to get out there and start shooting.. The slight fatigue from the 2.5 hour drive quickly faded away as we pulled up to the property! Our mouths hit the floor when we saw this place! So..much…to….shoot…!! You could imagine that while shooting in a junk yard you would stumble across some pretty cool backgrounds…but full campers, plane engines, semi trucks, classic cars, oil tanks, and old torpedo shells from WWII… come on!! A photographer’s dream come true.. There was honestly so much to shoot we didn’t even cover a 1/4 of the property.. But here is some of the stuff Kristin and I got!!

That’s right they even had a Farris Wheel!!

Oh yeah not only was there a playground of props for us to use for the shoot.. there just so happen to be this totally awesome dry lake bed right next door!!

Apparently wind bugging is the thing to do out there.. Check out this guys tricks.. I think he wanted a little attention too..

Jared and Katelyn {Wedding}

Happy Monday!!! Here is another beautiful wedding that Kristin and I shot here in our home town of Yorba Linda. Meet Jared and Katelyn, you might remember seeing their engagement photos featured on Grey Likes Weddings. These two are so sweet, loving and totally down to earth. They met nearly 8 years ago and have been High School sweethearts ever since. They decided to have their wedding at the house Katelyn has grown up in her whole life. This is also the place where Jared and Katelyn first met. Jared was asked to participate in a charity league fashion show that Katelyn belong to. The practices being at her house sparked a great opportunity for their relationship to take off.

I cant even imagine the countless hours Jared must have spent over at Katelyn’s house during those dating years. The more you get to know these two you couldn’t picture a more perfect backdrop for their wedding day.. Not to mention that this house is beyond gorgeous! Pool, tennis court, even its own private vineyard.. just stunning! These two have such a classy timelessness about them and think the photos reflected just that. Here are some shots from the day!
