Josh and Krista’s Wedding

Last week I had the opportunity to shoot two of my very good friends Josh and Krista! Josh is the one apart of the break dance ministry called Break Free so we knew it was going to be a night of dancing and showing off some moves… The back drop took place in a quiet and humble little area in whittier.  I thought that everything came out awesome!

Loved Krista’s flowers..

I love this shot..

Krista found this awesome barn earlier in the week and knew it would be the perfect spot to take some killer photos.

After the portrait session they had a sweet taco bar.

Definitely one of Josh’s favorite things to do.. He didnt even have a smile this big during picture time :) Hahaha I love it.

A little shout out to Austin Perez representing Transparent Black Productions. Such an awesome guy!

One of the highlights of the night was that Josh’s dad promised Josh at some point in his youth that he would break dance at his wedding. He was probably trying just to avoid immediate agony by saying this, not actually believing that Josh had very well remembered this comment and told the dj that the party was not going to continue until he hit the stage with his son. A real crowd pleaser.

Josh and Sonny

Tim  and Swalley

I had a great time shooting for you guys and was honored to be your photographer. Have fun in Macedonia and Greece. We shall hit up the B-Boys when you return!

Joel + Jessica Trash the Dress!!

OK so maybe it wasnt quite a day after.. Actually almost a 2 year anniversary in fact. Joel and Jessica approached me to set up a time to do a “Trash the Dress” shoot. We dont really trash the dress.. unless you want us too.. then it opens up even MORE POSSIBILITIES!! :) haha ok anyways.. Jessica was reluctant because she didnt want to literally trash her dress but she wanted to get totally funky pictures. So I had just the right place in mind! Another one of my totally random secret places..

But before we get started I wanted to give a special thanks to Steve with Weddings by SML as well as Brianne Brewster for doing an awesome job on Jessica’s hair and make up. Steve got some great footage from the day and I cant wait till we put all together!

I love the industrial feel of all these shots.. I even think it went well with what Joel was wearing..

Considering they were standing through the stairs it probably wasn’t too safe for me to stand ON them.. Got some sweet shots though :)

One of my favorite shots of the day… Lighting is soo sweet!

Jessica was pretty much open for just about anything.. she even told me she didnt mind if her dress got wet.. Wrong thing to say if you really dont want to get wet ;)

Also my fav shot of the day.. soo awesome!!

Sean and Cat Engaged

Ok I have been really excited to shoot this amazingly awesome and stylish couple for quite sometime now! Sean is a music artist and a member of the band Yellowcard.  He’s the one that shreads on the violin! Awesome!  I didnt tell him this when we were shooting but he was the reason I bought an electric violin like 4 years ago… Haha havent picked up the thing once since I bought it :) Probably why I didnt tell him..

Anyways I was so excited to shoot because Cat had already scouted out a place to shoot near her old house in Oak Park, CA. It was a place her mom, also a photographer, liked to take her clients too. Once I got there I was in Heaven! I knew we were going to get great some killer shoots!

One of my favorite shots of the day!

Another fav!

Then after the shoot Sean and Cat had an engagement party back at my friend Courtney’s house with all their friends and family. Sean lives in Seattle now so we had to coordinate everything for one action packed day since I had an event the day before. You can see they have a beautiful house with an even more beautiful view! a perfect place to have a little sunday Hawaiian themed BBQ!

social butterflies..

Hahaha love it! Sassy ping pong..

mixed with intense ping pong..

equates to quite an appetite. Awesome job to Steve for cooking up quite a delicious meal. I think it ranked right up there with Salmon, Asparagus and Corn on the cob! So Good!

And the  ugliest yet surprisingly cutest little thing I have ever seen.. hamming it up for the camera

Then after the party we hit up sess # 2 right in their backyard. Awesome light and color!

Sean and Cat I had a great time with you guys and look forward to your wedding coming up in June!!! I cant wait!

Scott and Kristen

Today I had the opportunity to shoot one of my finance friends from back in college. As you can tell I didnt go that route but I was happy being able to meet this happy couple through that! Its always an honor and a privilege working for friends! Since these two met when Kristen was going to Fullerton I guess it was fitting to shoot down there… There are tons of cool buildings and textures. When I saw what they were wearing I knew just the place to compliment their outfits!

Bright colors + Simple background = AWESOMENESS!

I love this shot..

Then off to one of my favorite places to shoot…EVER!

These two were so natural and really easy to work with.

Fire burnt trees..

Seriously a great shoot and was so stoked to come back and look through all of them. I think the places fit best

Derek + MaryJane

Hi everybody! Man this has been quite a busy season already with 8 engagements shoots in the last 2 weeks!! Its shaping up to be quite a year for our studio and have been so blessed by all the wonderful couples we get to work with!

Here are one of those wonderful couples Derek and MaryJane. I was super excited when they asked me to be their photographer not only because I knew they would be totally fun to work with but also because from the moment we met and signed the contract she was already talking about how she wanted to shoot in her Cowgirl boots and get a vintage/country flare to their pics.. I knew that we were going to have a good connection from there and I had just the right place in mind..  So enjoy!

I love these flowers..

We had such a beautiful day and the weather was perfect! I love the light in all these shots..

I love this shot!

As I was taking this shot above I looked right over my shoulder and saw this.. Only got one shot before it flew away.. Pretty sweet
Hahaha.. This one makes me smile with them every time I look at it!

I loved their chemistry with eachother. They were fun, loving and just genuine with each other. I think it really came out in their photos..

And probably my favorite shot of the day.. not sure though.. you guys decide and leave a comment :)

We had such a great time that day and I look forward to shooting their wedding in October. They ordered an engagement sign in book and I think we got some killer stuff to use to make a sweet one!

Tim + Eileen married.. last August..?

This last weekend I had the opportunity to shoot Tim and Eileen’s wedding at the Hilton Waterfront with coordinator extraordinaire Eva Chiou from Red Velvet Occasions who did a great job coordinating the days events! We started out getting ready at their house in Irvine and then headed off to Huntington.

They had three of these cute little guys as pets in the front yard.. I love this shot of him looking at me :)

Also Anha with Anha does Makeup did an amazing job on Eileen’s makeup!

The Groom

The Bride

I loved all the colors of the wedding, really bright and vibrant!

Oh I forgot to mention that Eileen handmade all the shawls and wanted me to take a picture of all the details… Nicely done Eileen they looked amazing!

I think one of my favorite bridal party shots ever! Lots of color and style!

I love love love this shot! Nice work Kris!

Tim and Eileen actually got married last August in Bali, they kept it a secret from everyone.. including me!! They played this slideshow when people thought it was going to be the ceremony. People were.. well as you can see.. Shocked!

This is Tim’s mom… she had no clue!!

They did a traditional filipino/spanish in one of 3 different dresses Eileen wore for the evening..

This wedding was awesome! Tim and Eileen were really relaxed and easy going, always a quality I respect and enjoy in all my couples! Well Tim and Eileen I was going to say that I hope you have a successful marriage but I know that you already have for the past 8 months. So I guess keep up the good work and it was a pleasure being apart f your special day!
