Tony + Diana

This past weekend I had the privilege of shooting Tony and Diana wedding at the Hilton Waterfront in Huntington Beach. One of the reasons why it was so awesome was because I had an solid group of vendors to work with.  Jonathan Colliflower from Splendid Events did a wonderful job coordinating the days events and made sure the day went smoothly. Which it was one of the most relaxed weddings I have ever been too.. Also always a pleasure working with Joe Paxton with Atmosphere Entertainment. He does not only a phenomenal job with keeping the party alive  but also creating the specific mood and feeling you want your wedding to acheive. But the biggest reason I was so excited to shoot Tonton and Diana’s wedding was because I met this amazing couple when I was  down in Mexico for Ti and Angie’s Wedding.

Tony immediately approached me and started talking about cameras and photography. We hit it off from there and spent the whole weekend hanging out with each other as well as both the  and enjoying the Tong and Aparri families. Both of which came to this wedding so there we a lot of familiar faces which is one of my favorite things about weddings. Like I always say I love to become apart of each and every family that I shoot for. It just makes everything so much more personal and enjoyable!

The make up

The anticipation..

I love these next two details shots..

I loved the colors they went with.. Tiffany blue and white. I think everything ended up looking really nice and clean especially the white dance floor. Like I said awesome job Atmosphere Entertainment for really setting the mood as well as Lisa Tom with Tomgirl Baking Co. who did this amazing cake.

I always love shooting new places. Tons of fun cool places for me to explore. I look forward to working there again in a couple weeks :) If you want to see more photos from the day please check out their slideshow by clicking HERE!

Adrian + Nicole

A couple of days ago I had the privilege of shooting Adrian and Nicole! I was so excited to shoot with them for two reasons: I love to shoot and because I had never met them before. Nicole booked with me to shoot their wedding without meeting me.

This is not the first time that this has happened but it is just such a compliment to know that they appreciate your work so much that it isn’t a necessity to meet. Along with that I had shot her friends wedding earlier in the year and although Nicole had not attended the wedding she said that I came highly recommended.  Thanks Natalie!

I love the light..

My fav shot of the day!

These guys were so funny they could not stop laughing every where we went.. I love seeing that!

For some reason I love shooting near or on the streets, I think they have so much energy and really help the photos come to life.

We found this sweet field that I thought would be a perfect fit for these two.

It was amazing working with and getting to know Adrian and Nicole.  I think the photos turned out awesome and had a blast doing it.  I am really looking forward to their wedding down in San Diego in July!

Award Winner!!

I just wanted to say how stoked I was to receive this award form Martha Stewart Weddings and Weddingwire.com. The Brides Choice award was only given to the top 3 percent of WeddingWire’s vendor community, which includes over 100,000 wedding vendors from across the US. The contest was based on several criteria including professionalism, responsiveness, flexibility, value, creativity and Im not exactly sure what else..

So here is is :)

2009 Bride's Choice Awards presented by WeddingWire | Wedding Cakes, Wedding Venues, Wedding Photographers & More

Haha doesn’t look like much but it means a whole bunch to me. Thank you to all my past clients who took the time to give me reviews and help make this become a reality.. haha sounds so cheezy!!

Albums, Albums, Albums!

We had some amazing weddings last year and are working hard right now on some even more amazing albums! Some of you have been wanting to see some examples of albums on my website so I decided to upload one on my blog.  Albums are a tricky thing to handle. You have to combine not only appropriate colors and photo combinations but you  have to worry about composing a harmonious slue of emotions and feelings. Sometimes the best shots need to be highlighted by themselves while other pictures compliment each other in a way that maximizes the total viewing experience. Highlighting details and expressions, family and festivities.  Like I said, not always an easy thing to accomplish. Check out this 50 page monster from Brian and Patricia’s Wedding last October. I think it came out awesome and accomplished all that I wanted to!

Thanks Brian and Patty for a great day and an awesome album!

Sean and Erica

I shot Sean and Erica’s wedding a little while ago but I wanted to wait to be able to post the pictures in LARGE form as I believe they deserved. My normal second shooter Kris wasn’t able to tag along this time so I had another friend of mine Melissa from Gartner Photography  joined the festivities. She was a great help and got some amazing shots like this one below! Killer! It was a blessing being able to shoot Erica’s wedding because I shot her older sister Teri’s wedding about year ago. I always love shooting the same family again. It  feels like a mini reunion for me, for those of you who don’t know me I try to become apart of everyone’s family :) So I just wanted to share a few shots with you, and only a few because wedding season is picking up and my time is already getting limited for blogging.. But I made a promise so dont worry!!

I think my favorite shot of the day.. I love the colors and textures.. the red hair really pops!

Other favorite shot of the day.. cant decide.. super edgy.. I love it!

Sean and Erica were worried that I wasnt going to be able to find any area to shoot near their church since it was in a industrial area.. I think there shots came out awesome!

Some quick shots at the golf course..

Like I said short and sweet.. I will keep you all posted with more to come.. we got some trash the dress shoots and all kinds of engagement shoots happening in the next 3 weeks!! Busy busy busy!

Just the way I like it!

New Shoes!

Im not sure if any of you have heard about this new shoe company or not but I wanted to take a minute to highlight this philanthropic company called TOMS Shoes.

I was intrigued from the first time I laid eyes on their wide array of stylish shoes. They have lots of different choices for both men and women all with a simplistically modern yet rurally driven vibe that gives them a really different feel from the normal tenny’s. But what really drew me into this company was that when ever you purchase a pair of shoes, TOMS provides and delivers another pair of shoes to a child in need all throughout the world! One to One!

Thats when I was sold.. So I just got my second pair in the mail and I wanted to show you how sweet they are!

Those of you who know me know that my heart is the mission field.  After returned back from Kenya the second time I knew what an impact having a good solid pair of shoes has not only on the body itself but in the poverty stricken community as a whole. Although I have not attended one of  TOMS shoe drops I know from my experience what an impact it has on the joy and health in the community. I was glad to hear that TOMS focus is on Podoconiosis (Podo):

Podo is a debilitating disease that causes extreme swelling, repeated ulcers, and deformity in the feet and legs. Podo is 100% preventable with a good pair of shoes. Something that we so often overlook if it even crosses our minds in the first place. Millions of people are without a good pair of shoes or even a pair at all.  With already over 115,000 pairs donated I am excited to see how God will use this company to deliver and provide shoes to people in need all throughout the world!
