Today I had the amazing privilege to go down to Cypress street in Placentia to help serve thanksgiving dinner for over 500 people as well as have the opportunity to document this joyous occation. It is the same place where a small team of us actively partake in developing the community through relationship building and spreading the good news of the Gospel every Tuesday night. My team specifically focuses on the communities youth from ages 4 to 12. It has been a ministry that has truly touched my heart and have grown so close to many members of this community especially our little guys!
Along with dinner we had members of our church donate any unwanted clothing they had and the result was unexpectedly astonishing which required us to have to rent a UHAUL van! A great problem to have indeed. We had probably over 70 bags of clothing which we sorted out the night before thanksgiving which looked something like this
This is a picture of Cypress street before all the festivities started..
Trying to clean the place a little before we set up over 70 tables for dinner, face painting, live band, free buffet, bounce house, clothe donation, food donation, arts and crafts station, popcorn machine, and DJ Vicente bringin’ the hits!
We knew that we were going to be fighting rain all day but it was pleasantly easy to work with.. It came down in spurts, large spurts, but spurts none the less.

The chaos begins!

I just had to post Randy all by himself.. If you cant tell he definitely wants to be the next WWE superstar!

Awesome face paint!

We had a huge turnout with over 700 warm turkey dinners served..
This was actually Christopher’s 3 time in line.. This 4 year boy can eat!

We had such a great turn out and were so excited so many people got warm clothes for the winter as well as a warm meal that they wouldnt have had before. We are looking forward to see what God has in store for this community in the future but for now we are eager and excited to be apart of all He is doing!
